EgyptAir officially reinstituted its nonstop route between Cairo International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport on May 23, ending a hiatus of more than twenty years for the Southern California market. The flag carrier operates the transcontinental link three times per week using an Airbus A350-900 configured with 340 seats, split between 30 business-class suites and 310 economy spaces. This deployment forms part of a wider corporate initiative to upgrade long-haul fleet capabilities and expand North American connectivity. Flight MS983 departs Cairo on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 8:30 AM, landing in California at 1:20 PM local time after a journey lasting nearly 15 hours. The return leg, designated MS984, leaves Los Angeles at 5:25 PM and touches down in Egypt the following afternoon.

This revival follows the airline's historic routing via New York that ended in 2001 and complements ongoing services to Newark Liberty International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport. Complementing the Los Angeles schedule, EgyptAir initiates a separate thrice-weekly service to Chicago O'Hare International Airport on June 21 using the same Airbus equipment. These additions target growing commercial and leisure demand, linking major diaspora hubs across the United States directly to Cairo and onward destinations across the Middle East and Africa.

The Airbus A350-900 cabin layout provides modern amenities for the nearly 15-hour westbound journey and the 13-hour return. U.S. citizens holding a valid passport can obtain a tourist visa upon arrival at Cairo International Airport for $25 USD, payable in cash, or apply online via the official electronic visa portal prior to departure.
