Garuda Indonesia leads a group of six carriers seeking clearance to operate commercial jet flights out of Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, West Java, as state-owned operator InJourney Airports finalizes preparations for the September 17 reactivation. The facility currently handles only military operations, VIP charters, and limited turboprop services by Susi Air.

InJourney Airports corporate secretary group head Arie Ahsanurrohim confirmed that the operator coordinates daily with the Transportation Ministry to align facility standards with national regulations. Infrastructure upgrades include the deployment of Category 7 rescue and firefighting equipment, advanced X-ray screening machinery, and structural reinforcement of the 2,200-meter runway, taxiways, and aprons to support narrow-body aircraft.
